At 8.41 p.m, on July 11 2013 Tourists and residents scrambled for cover as “hell broke loose” in most of the location of the upper Adriatic Coast. Caorle looked more like a mountain resort village covered with snow as violent thunderstorms poured heavy rains followed by what has been labelled by residents here as “The worst hail storm in Caorle’s History”
Other people reported a Tornado touched down in the nearby beach of Eraclea Mare, uprooting trees and causing extensive damages. No injuries were reported so far.
