Pope Francis will clean the Vatican like San Francesco
(by pio dal cin)March 15th 2013 00:18 a.m (Rome Time GMT+1) As Pope Francesco begins His Papacy with a visit to the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome to pay respect to Mary Mother of Jesus. known to the people of Rome as
Even the +Dalai Lama made a +Google+ post to acknowledge that He knows and Loves Saint Francis of Assisi for His discipline, simple ways, and Love for All Creatures.
Being the first Pope ever to choose such a Great Name puts Him on a very important spot. Not easy to manage.
The need for a simple Man that can embrace the Original Message of Jesus through the New Testament withnessed in person by Saint Francis of Assisi was strongly needed in a corrupted and evil world that hasn’t spared even the Vatican in the past decade.
1)Vatican Leaks
2)Pedophile Scandals in the Catholic Church
3)The IOR Vatican Bank Scandals
4)Vatican richness
He has a though job ahead of Him, but His simple ways (He greeted the crowd in St.Peter with a “Fratelli e Sorelle Buonasera”) have already conquered the world. He asked the people who gathered in the Square to Bless Him, before He would Bless them.
How many Wolves will this Pope with Italian Origins will have to encounter inside the Vatican, like
Saint Francis with the Gubbio’s Wolf (see video here)

New Pope O’Malley Cardinal with “what it takes” (a plea to the Holy Spirit)
With the Conclave Extra Hommnes from the Latin word ”cum clavem” (with key) that comes from what happened in 1270 when the people of Viterbo locked the cardinals in the City’s Palace until they reached the election of Gregory X
The process to elect the new Head of the Catholic Church will begin on Tuesday March 12th.
As I stated in a previous post( A fool’s prediction), trying to make a prediction is like to be able to guess the lottery numbers. Anyone can be right or wrong.
I was brought up a Christian Catholic in a very strict way. My name comes from Padre Pio da Petrelcina whom my dad met many times when he was a “small friar” battered by the Church and confined without the permission to Celebrate the Mass as he was becoming popular among the crowds for His “miracles”.
(Mons. Albino Luciani-Pope John Paul the I with my father) I met two Popes personally in my life: Pope John Paul
the I and Pope John Paul the II. (foto copyright pio dal cin 2013)
During my travelling around the World, as a photojournalist I came in touch and I studied
Islam, Ebraism, Buddhism and the Religion of the Native Americans, out of my curiosity of understanding where, if there is one, lies the Truth.
I must admit that I wasn’t thrilled about Pope Benedict VXI; not much for His great personality and profound culture, but for the fact that he “sported” those huge golden crosses on His neck and the “fisherman ring” was big enough to buy a couple of apartments.
I kept repeating to myself that “This cannot be Sacred..” Isn’t the Church supposed to support the poverty as one of the three wows?”
Native Americans have a saying “If it is Sacred it must be Free..” I like this. But how many controversial, not free items are there in the Catholic Church today? Why is the Legacy of Saint Peter obliterated by scandals of the Vatican’s funds of million of Euros?
I learned that the IOR (the Vatican Bank)is the most powerful bank in the whole world.
This should change, in my humble opininion. Saint Francis of Assisi was called by Jesus
to “Repair the Church”“Vai Francesco, ripara la mia Chiesa” and was cited here by Benedict VXI.
Times are very hard and the sex scandals, Vatican Leaks and not so transparent transactions of the Church are “rocking the Boat” like never before.
Given my statement that “You have to be a Fool to make a prediction of choosing a Pope”, I will have another approach and “write a letter of plead to the Holy Spirit“, asking to pick the only one I saw that fits the description of Saint Francis of Assisi: Cardinal Sean O’Malley (read His blog)
LETTER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT: I will start with this Song to the Holy Spirit, that is sung by the Cardinals upon entering the Conclave, to ask for Divine Inspiration.
Dear Holy Spirit,
I am just a grain of sand in the Universe. I understand nothing about the Laws and the Forces that balance the Great Space.
Many Humans call upon Your Force and Greatness. Some call You Great Spirit, other call You Holy Spirit, other do not even believe in You.
During these days the Catholic Church is called to elect the Captain of the Ship.
It is been very hard for me in these past years to believe that Your Holy Presence is among those walls, given all the scandals that we heard about.
It is very hard to boftenelieve that the Spirit of Jesus and of Saint Peter, and Saint Francis of Assisi is behind the gold and richness ofnen shown by those who are called to be Your servants, while there are million of people who suffer in the World.
So here is my humble plea: If You are really among those walls, Shed a Great LIght upon those who are called to elect the new Pope so that His ways will be as Jesus requested of
simplicity and trasparency. a real Sheperd that can show the World that Jesus is still among us human beings in the way HE taught us.
My pick is Sean O’ Malley
(I know that You don’t need suggestions but at least I casted my vote)

To all corrupted politicians in Italy. On your last day, you’ll regret your behaviour
(by pio dal cin) To all the corrupted politicians out there. Listen to the voices of the People of Italy crying for some relief. Before you are a politician you are (or at least should be) a MAN.
Next time you hoover over a City with your helicopter on the way to make a multimillion euro deal, think of the person in despair because he just lost his job, or because the enterprise he started with great sacrifices is about to collapse, maybe for a bill, or a law that you voted.
Think of a mother trying to feed the children with less than a thousand euros a month, while you are getting a message on your Iphone telling you that your 90thousand euro pension has been deposited in your bank account.
Think of a young couple who will not be able to start a family because the Bank just denied them a mortgage as they only have one paycheck a month and it won’t be enough.
Think of all the money you stole, and you are stealing from the poor people. One day you are going to die too. You will die rich and perhaps you’ll regret on your death bed not having being able to be honest and it will be the moment you’ll meet your Creator, it will be the saddest moment of your life.
Honesty
To achieve honesty within yourself,
To recognize who and what you are ,
Do this and you can be honest with all others
Humility
Humble yourself and recognize that
No matter how much you think you know,
You know very little of all the universe.
Truth
To learn truth,
To live with truth, and
To walk with truth,
To speak truth
Wisdom
To have wisdom is to know the difference between good and bad, and
To know the result of your actions
Love
Unconditional love to know that when people are weak
They need your love the most,
That your love is given freely, and
You cannot put conditions on it
Or your love is not true
Respect
Respect others, their beliefs, and
Respect yourself.
If you cannot show respect,
You cannot expect respect to be given
Bravery
To be brave is to do something right,
Even if you know it’s going to hurt you.

G+ Bradley Horowitz Describes his Tesla Model S driving experience
Bradley Horowitz
7:24 PM (edited) - Public
A few weeks ago, we decided that we’d take advantage of the long weekend to drive down from the Bay Area to Los Angeles to see friends and family. The notion of driving down (v. flying) was made infinitely more appealing by the thought of taking our Tesla Model S.
In the intervening time, the +The New York Times +Elon Musk kerfuffle unfolded. I must say, it gave me a moment of pause about whether taking the Tesla was actually a good idea.
But I’ve already got more than 3000 miles on the car, and have learned to trust it. So off we went. And I started out by resetting the trip odometer, staying acutely aware of my energy consumption, etc. But as the trip progressed (with another adult and two kids), we settled into the usual road trip rhythm of songs, games, and “Are we there yet? How much longer?!” It became clear that the fact that this was an electric car was a non-issue. And so I stopped any notions of meticulous logging and just had fun and stayed present. So this post is not in anyway intended as a rebuttal, filled with facts, figures, points and counterpoints. Just one happy Model S owner’s experience, on one particularly well-supported route.
We trip was ordinary in the best possible sense. We had the air-conditioner going when it was hot (toward LA), the heater on when it was cold (back here), and we drove like we like to drive. The car handled the steep grades on the path like a champ. In fact the only thing missing was the roar of an engine struggling to make it up the hill. ;-)
Per the attached map below, we stopped twice, breaking the trip into thirds. This gave us an opportunity to eat, switch drivers, refresh… and of course recharge. In a gas-powered car, at least one of these stops would have been “optional” for me… maybe we’d have broken the trip into halves instead of thirds. But we’d have still stopped to eat, and additionally I’d have definitely needed at least one bio-break and stand-and-stretch. So in reality, there was a bit of a compromise. For our second stop, what might have been a 15 minute pit-stop ended up being longer (by about 40 minutes.) We put the time to good use, and it didn’t feel burdensome.
I heard a couple of NPR Marketplace correspondents last week describe this tradeoff well. The first said (I paraphrase), “It’s not always appropriate to judge a new, disruptive technology against an incumbent across every dimension. For instance, landlines almost never ‘drop calls.’ Cell phones do… a lot. By that measure alone, you’d think that cell phones would fail. But the added convenience of portability has trumped every other disadvantage.” Another Marketplace reporter said (again paraphrasing), “I’m sure when gas-powered cars were first introduced some folks were dubious… since most of the oat-feeding stations in our national transportation network did not yet support gasoline pumps. But that of course changed.” ;-)
Here are some other random observations:
- One thing missing from the Supercharger stations – squeegees to clean the windshield of bugs! (+Tesla Motors help us out here!)
- This was my first experience using a Supercharger, and it’s pretty stunning how quickly it pours range back into the car.
- Lots of tumbleweeds blowing across I5. Really big ones that folks had to brake for.
- Cost of travel for four to LA and back: $0 (thanks +Tesla Motors!) versus approx. $1000 for the flights we wanted.
Details:
Here’s a map of our route: http://goo.gl/maps/wpKpE
Palo Alto -> Harris Ranch Supercharger: 158mi
Harris Ranch Supercharger -> Tejon Ranch: 116mi
Tejon Ranch -> Koreatown (LA): 80mi
Total Distance: 354mi
Note that I actually passed a Supercharger in Gilroy, simply because I didn’t need it. That was fun. ;-)Collapse this post

Fugitive ex LAPD cop exchanged gunfire with police. Two injured.
The fugitive ex-LAPD cop suspected of killing three and declaring war on the force exchanged gunfire with authorities in the San Bernardino Mountains, law enforcement sources said.
Two police officers were reportedly injured, and it was not known if Dorner was hit or in custody.
A police source told The Associated Press Christopher Dorner burglarized a cabin on the mountain resort area where days ago Dorner’s truck was found burning. Two people were bound inside the cabin, but one managed to escape and call authorities around 12:50 p.m. local time.
Fish and game wardens spotted a suspected stolen car near the scene and tried to stop it in Big Bear Lake. The driver, believed to have been Dorner, fled on foot, exchanging gunfire, sources told Fox News.
San Bernardino police were on the scene the county Sheriff’s Department shut down Highway 38 to create a choke point, sources told Fox News. It was unclear if Dorner was in custody.
The shootout came after a day of searching and speculation, with authorities continuing their door-to-door search at Big Bear Lake, even as sources guessed Dorner may have made it over the border and into Mexico.
Dorner, who claimed in a rambling manifesto posted online that he was booted from his job unfairly after official determined he falsely accused his partner of assaulting a suspect, is suspected of gunning down Monica Quan and her fiancé Keith Lawrence last week in Orange County. Quan’s father, Randall Quan, represented Dorner at the hearing in which he lost his job in 2009.
The 33-year-old former Navy veteran is also suspected of shooting two police officers in Riverside, Calif., killing 11-year veteran Police Officer Michael Crain.

A life revealed (The Afghan Girl with those great eyes grew up…)
http://www.codognetreviso.com/2012/10/a-life-revealed-by-national-geographic.html
A LIFE REVEALED
Her eyes have captivated the world since she appeared on our cover in 1985. Now we can tell her story.
The photographer remembers the moment too. The light was soft. The refugee camp in Pakistan was a sea of tents. Inside the school tent he noticed her first. Sensing her shyness, he approached her last. She told him he could take her picture. “I didn’t think the photograph of the girl would be different from anything else I shot that day,” he recalls of that morning in 1984 spent documenting the ordeal of Afghanistan’s refugees.
The portrait by Steve McCurry turned out to be one of those images that sears the heart, and in June 1985 it ran on the cover of this magazine. Her eyes are sea green. They are haunted and haunting, and in them you can read the tragedy of a land drained by war. She became known around National Geographic as the “Afghan girl,” and for 17 years no one knew her name.
In January a team from National Geographic Television & Film’s EXPLORER brought McCurry to Pakistan to search for the girl with green eyes. They showed her picture around Nasir Bagh, the still standing refugee camp near Peshawar where the photograph had been made. A teacher from the school claimed to know her name. A young woman named Alam Bibi was located in a village nearby, but McCurry decided it wasn’t her.
No, said a man who got wind of the search. He knew the girl in the picture. They had lived at the camp together as children. She had returned to Afghanistan years ago, he said, and now lived in the mountains near Tora Bora. He would go get her.
It took three days for her to arrive. Her village is a six-hour drive and three-hour hike across a border that swallows lives. When McCurry saw her walk into the room, he thought to himself: This is her.
Names have power, so let us speak of hers. Her name is Sharbat Gula, and she is Pashtun, that most warlike of Afghan tribes. It is said of the Pashtun that they are only at peace when they are at war, and her eyes—then and now—burn with ferocity. She is 28, perhaps 29, or even 30. No one, not even she, knows for sure. Stories shift like sand in a place where no records exist.
Gaza Strip photo story
These pictures were taken by me in 1991 in the Gaza Strip. It was very hard to go inside as a photojournalist because both sides (Israeli and Palestinian) looked at me with great suspect. I finally managed to make it inside and I encountered great poverty. The roads were all smashed up and covered with mud. Children were playing next to the trash. It looked to me like a very very poor place to live an “open sky sewer” I remember writing when I came back with my assignment. I do not know if things have changed now…I have not been back there ever since.
